What is the difference between standing seam and exposed fastener metal roofing, and which should I choose?

Standing seam metal roofing uses concealed fasteners and raised seams to lock panels together, creating a clean, modern look and strong long-term weather protection.

Exposed fastener metal roofing uses visible screws and is typically a more budget-friendly option, making it popular for simpler rooflines, barns, shops, and some residential projects.

Should I choose 5-inch or 6-inch gutters?

In general, 5-inch K-style gutters are common for many homes, while 6-inch gutters are often used where higher water volume is expected. We recommend sizing based on roof layout, pitch, and drainage needs.

Do snow guards require holes in my roof?

On many standing seam roofs, snow guards can be installed with clamp-on systems that attach to the seam rather than penetrating the panels.

What is the difference between pro rated and non pro rated?

Prorated means the amount is adjusted based on how much time (or coverage) is used. If you cancel or change service partway through a billing period, you may pay or receive a partial amount for the unused portion.

Non-prorated means the amount is not adjusted. If you cancel or change service, you typically won’t receive a partial refund or credit for unused time—terms apply as written in the policy.

How does the warranty work?

40 year non pro rated. 1 time transferable.

Which metal roof lasts longer, standing seam or exposed fastener?

Standing seam is typically considered the longer-term system because the fasteners are hidden and not directly exposed to weather.

Exposed fastener roofs can perform very well too, but they rely more heavily on proper screw placement and long-term fastener maintenance.
